As an archaeologist with a keen eye for detail, my recent stay at Riad Maiya in Marrakech proved to be both a delightful and fiscally wise choice. Situated a quick 10-15 minute walk from Jemma al-Fna, the riad is tucked away in a less touristy neighborhood, allowing for an authentic glimpse into Moroccan life. The first notable aspect was the value proposition. For what one pays, the amenities offered, including spacious and comfortable rooms with high-quality free toiletries, are impressive. The communal areas, like the rooftop terrace, provide a relaxing spot after a day exploring the medina. The hospitality from Hasan was an asset, as he provided tailored suggestions for our stay, ensuring we navigated the city efficiently. While Wi-Fi only worked in common areas, this encouraged me to immerse myself fully in the ambiance of Marrakech. Riad Maiya balances luxury and affordability wonderfully, making it a sensible choice for anyone wanting a tranquil break in the heart of bustling Marrakech.
